Important Hardware Safety Disclaimer
Online Battery is a software utility designed to help regulate charge cycles by toggling third-party smart power outlets. Software control cannot guarantee physical immunity against lithium-ion battery degradation, manufacturing defects, or thermal runaway. Users must inspect unattended devices regularly and ensure adequate ventilation around batteries and AC adapters.
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Online Battery mobile application (the "App") or accessing onlinebattery.app (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App or Site.
2. Scope of Service & Operational Model
Online Battery is engineered to optimize charging ranges (e.g. 40% to 70%) and apply thermal cutoff protections (e.g. above 35°C) on unattended Android smartphones and tablets by communicating over local wireless networks (WiFi) with compatible smart power outlets, including TP-Link Tapo, Shelly, and Home Assistant entities.
The software operates without requiring Android root privileges, relying instead on network-level switching commands to your smart outlets.
3. User Responsibilities & Prerequisites
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You must supply and maintain a compatible smart power outlet connected to the same local WiFi network.
- You must configure your Android OS power management settings to prevent the system from killing the background monitoring service.
- Local network interruptions, router reboots, or smart plug firmware updates may temporarily disrupt power switching.
- You remain solely responsible for the physical inspection, environmental temperature, and mounting safety of any hardware running the App.
4. Subscriptions & Billing (Fleet Monitoring)
Certain advanced capabilities, such as Cloudflare Worker heartbeat monitoring and Resend instant email alerts, are offered under a paid Fleet Monitoring subscription:
- Google Play Processing: All subscription purchases, renewals, and payments are processed through the Google Play Store and mediated by RevenueCat.
- Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time within your Google Play Account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
- Data Deletion After Expiration: As described in our Privacy Policy, all device heartbeats and alert subscriptions are automatically deleted from our database 24 hours following subscription expiration.
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ONLINE BATTERY AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO HARDWARE DAMAGE, BATTERY SWELLING, LOSS OF DATA, NETWORK DOWNTIME, OR FIRE HAZARDS RESULTING FROM HARDWARE DEFECTS OR EXTERNAL APPLIANCES.
6. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Marks
"TP-Link", "Tapo", "Shelly", "Home Assistant", and "Android" are registered trademarks of their respective owners. Online Battery is an independent software tool and is not officially endorsed by or affiliated with TP-Link, Shelly Group, the Open Home Foundation, or Google LLC.
7. Governing Law & Contact
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable consumer protection and commercial laws. If you have questions regarding these Terms, contact us at:
